Registration Requirements

New-Buyer

A New Buyer is a customer/company that has not purchased from Northern Exchange Auctions previously and includes Bidders who have previously registered but not completed a purchase with Northern Exchange Auctions.

All New Buyers must provide the following in order to register for a Bidder Number:

  1. A Bidder Registration Form – completed and signed by the Bidder
  2. Identification – at least 1 form of Photographic Identification (i.e. Driver’s Licence/Passport/National ID Card)
  3. If bidding on behalf of a company - a Letter of Authorisation from the Company Director on headed paper, and the Company VAT Number.
  4. New buyers may be asked to pay a deposit of £250*, which must be received in cleared funds via any of the following methods:
    • Payment via our website
    • Cash – (Sterling only) (a non refundable 1% surcharge applies for cash payments)
    • Debit Card (UK debit cards - no surcharge. Non UK debit cards - a non refundable 2.5% surcharge applies)
    • Credit Card (a non refundable 2.5% surcharge applies)
    • Bank Transfer – Cleared funds must be received before a Bidder Number can be assigned

Deposits will be returned on Auction day to customers who have been unsuccessful in their bids. Bidders please note payment may be made by a company cheque.

Regular-Buyer

A Regular Buyer is a customer/company that has purchased from Northern Exchange Auctions previously.

All Regular Buyers must provide the following in order to register for a Bidder Number:

  1. Bidder Registration Form
  2. Identification – at least 1 form of photographic identification (i.e. Driver’s Licence/Passport/National ID Card)
  3. If bidding on behalf of a company - a Letter of Authorisation from the Company Director on headed paper, and the Company VAT Number.
  4. Deposit – A Minimum Deposit of £250* may be required where:

- The customer/company has not purchased in the previous 2 years

- Where there have previously been any undue delays with payment being received.

If you are unsure whether a deposit is required, please contact our Administration Department at our Berwick upon Tweed site office prior to the Auction to discuss.
